Markus‘ autoimmune and kimchi story
When Markus was 28 and working as a strategy consultant, he developed an autoimmune condition called iritis. Extended stress phases, poor nutrition and sleep deficit put his immune system in distress. Classical medicine only offered him a cortisone-therapy, so he looked for a solution in his nutrition. Now kimchi is a centerpiece of his paleo lifestyle.

Dr. Lyudmyla Kovalenko und Dr. Markus Anding like many of their Doctor Kimchi customers are “busy professionals.“ They know the challenge of having not enough time for good nutrition and want to help you embracing kimchi as a smart snack. As a neuroscientist, Lyudmyla puts special focus on helping your “second brain”, the gut to stay healthy.

Doctor Kimchi is not just a good product, but also a good company. From their earliest stage, they focused on sustainability by design: they procure locally grown vegetables from socially responsible suppliers, use recyclable packaging materials and aim for zero-waste production.

The founder and CEO Lyudmyla has lived in different countries and sees diversity as a central value of the company. The Doctor Kimchi team contributes interdisciplinary training and fermentation traditions from seven cultures to develop the best kimchi on the German market. They challenge and encourage each other to grow every day.
